The investigation into the murder of Yvonne O'Brien on the holiday island of Majorca is no nearer being solved almost five months after her mutilated body was found in her flat.
Next week Yvonne, who was born and educated in Keighley, would have been 45.
Her 46-year-old brother, Philip Graham, who is critical of the delay in the Spanish investigation, said next Thursday would be a sombre day at his home in Keighley.
"It'll be a very sad time for all of us but we are also having to put up with this delay. Nothing seems to be happening," said Phil.
Yvonne, who left Keighley in her late teens but visited regularly and is still remembered fondly by her friends, was found dead in her apartment in Puerto de Alcudia on August 30 last year.
Her mutilated body was found by a young teenage boy, a neighbour who was befriended by Yvonne and enjoyed walking her dogs.
The investigation has stalled following the elimination of a German suspect who flew to Brazil at the time of the murder.
He was arrested when he returned to Germany and a DNA test did not connect him with the killing.
Mr Graham said he was also distressed by the problem he was facing getting probate of Yvonne's will, which would enable him to deal with her financial affairs.
"I can't get probate until I get an exact date of her death, but the Spanish judge will not give an official date until the investigation is finished.
"I can get as many death certificates as I like but they won't put a date on it. It's nearly five months now since her death and I just have to keep waiting," he said.
Once he gets the will arrangements completed, he aims to return to the island to finalise her financial arrangements and to sort out her flat.
Yvonne has a 14-year-old son who lives in Buckinghamshire with her former husband.
After her divorce, Yvonne moved to Majorca with the intention of starting a business.
Humphrey Carter, of Majorca's English-language newspaper the Daily Bulletin, said: "Since the arrest of the German suspect, who was then ruled out of the investigation, the Spanish police are back to square one.
"They still think the murderer left the island before the body was discovered but they don't have any new leads."
