Keighley construction company P S Turner has started work on a £20 million regional distribution centre for Royal Mail in Wakefield.
The firm, which is part of Allen Plc, has started work on the building in the town's Europort distribution centre.
Some 300 staff will transfer from the current distribution centre in Morley when the work is complete and the building opens for business next summer.
The shell of the 20,000 sq metre building is already visible and is a prominent landmark which dominates the local skyline.
The firm's marketing director Mike Smith said: "It has been great to see the new distribution centre taking shape and growing so quickly. The sheer size of the building strikes you even as you approach it from the motorway."
P S Turner's parent company Allen Plc is expected to have a turnover approaching £200 million this year.
