Queensbury's lively scrum half Carl Smith scored two vital tries to help put his side into the second round of the BNFL National Cup at Kirkholt.
Queensbury were rocked before the kick-off when forwards Andrew Senior and Luke Cooper had to withdraw through injury.
An early Kirkholt blitz added to their woe and they found themselves trailing by ten points after conceding two tries.
The ever-reliable Smith opened Queens-bury's account when he crossed close to the posts to leave centre Lee Baron with the easiest of conversions.
Speedy centre Trevor Stead timed his effort to perfection just before half-time to level the scores at 10-10.
Queensbury really got to grips with the home side in the second half through their tough tackling and Smith opened up the defence for his second try, again converted by Baron.
A late effort from stand off Lee Charlton sealed the game but it was a non-stop performance from forward Gary Prentice that clinched the man-of-the-match award.
Clayton are mystified as to how they lost the Pennine League Premier Division top-of-the-table clash at Underbank Ran-gers 15-10.
The Villagers' hopes were badly dented before the start when four regulars pulled out, including free-scoring backs Darren Collins and Adam Mitchell.
The resulting re-shuffle saw centre Chris Parr take the scum half role.
He responded with a great performance as his side raced into a 10-3 lead through tries from forwards Mark Schofield and Craig Pickthall.
Clayton continued to play sparkling football down the notorious slope and crossed the line on a further three occasions but could not ground the ball.
Underbank scored a converted try after the restart to edge back to 10-9 and five minutes from time rubbed salt in the wound to score a try against the run of play and steal the points.
Wyke won the Division Two derby 36-8 at home to Dudley Hill Eagles.
The experiment of playing full back Darren Barraclough at centre soon paid off when he crossed for two early tries.
The heftier Wyke forwards then took over to steamroller the Eagles pack.
Loose forward Steve Jackson, second row forward Michael Banks, prop Gus Dinn and hooker Warren Pitman all crossed with wingman Paul Metcalfe kicking six goals.
West Bowling A beat Division Three strugglers Stainland Stags 88-0. They posted 16 tries, the highlight of which was a hat-trick from Darren Redmond. Paul Ali kicked 13 goals.
Queensbury A overcame Clayton A 54-20 in the second round of the Shipley Trophy.
The scoreline does not do justice to the visitors' efforts and they fully deserved their early 6-0 lead.
But Queensbury kicked into gear and, with a 34-16 half-time lead, they had the tie under control.
Queensbury's tries came from Richard Ingham (2), Neil Hobson, John Batters (2), Andy Thornton, Paul Skelton (2), Matthew Cooper, Michael Nero and Martin Kemp. Steve Gallagher kicked five goals.
In Division Five West Bowling B lost 36-16 at Calder Valley A. Shah Basha (2) and Shaun Wilkinson crossed with Trevor Tordoff kicking two goals.
Shipley lacked leadership on their visit to Hoyland Vikings with both captain and coach missing with flu and lost 34-24. Their score came from touchdowns from John Askham and Dave Williams (2) with Darren Ellerton kicking four goals to add to his try.
