Morgan the moggy has had his fair share of bad luck and the four-year-old feline is quickly using up his nine lives.
He was run over by a lorry which led to him having his leg amputated, losing his fur and having half his tail chopped off.
And the luckless cat - named after a three-wheeled 1950s designer car - is just recovering from a rare mouth infection which meant having all his teeth removed.
Kind-hearted couple Graham and Sylvia Hoult, who work for Cats Protection as volunteers at the Wharfe Valley branch, offered to give him a home after his accident until he got better - but they just couldn't bear to say goodbye.
Mr Hoult said: "We only took him in to help him recover after the accident. Nobody wanted him and in the end I don't think we would have given him away if they did. Everybody loves him at the vets. They are all routing for him because he's had a rough ride."
After recovering from the accident Morgan spent most of his time with the next door neighbour's Doberman dog.
But then he started screaming when he ate and became very ill. His vet had no idea what was wrong with him and everyone started to think it was fatal - until a chance seminar revealed Morgan was allergic to his own teeth! He is now taking steroids after having them removed.
Mr Hoult said: "All of his troubles began because he had not been neutered and was out looking for females. Surely this is a warning to all cat owners.
"Thankfully he's getting better all the time and I'm sure he'll be back to his mischievous self soon."
