Addingham Reserves 3 Bradley Reserves 1
SERGIO Galasso bagged his second brace in a fortnight to help Addingham Reserves clinch victory. The Addingham man took his tally to six in four games and helped his side run out easy winners, despite an atrocious first half. Had Bradley been able to capitalise on some basic Addingham errors, the result could have been very different.
The visitors had an early chance but Addingham 'keeper Collins narrowed the angle sufficiently to prevent Bradley netting. Addingham began to settle down and play football with Johnson and Galasso linking well up front to create chances for Kernick and Bates in the Addingham midfield. The home side thought they had made the breakthrough on 20 minutes when Jez Parker's cross found Mick Kernick. He fired the ball home and Addingham celebrated a 1-0 lead. However, joy turned to disbelief when the referee ruled out his effort. The decision robbed Addingham of the momentum they had built up and they struggled to get back into the game.
The interval allowed Addingham to compose themselves. The side that started the second-half was the one the supporters had seen over the last ten weeks, playing fast one-touch football and splitting open opposing defences. Kernick clipped the bar with a shot and Johnson's thunderous drive was beaten out by the Bradley 'keeper.
It was no surprise when Addingham finally took the lead in the 55th minute. Kernick intercepted Doyle's clearance and released Galasso. The Addingham man rounded the Bradley 'keeper and stabbed the ball into an empty net. Five minutes later and Galasso was celebrating his second of the game. Danny Wells, Walder, Sunderland and Darren Bates combined down the right to allow Galasso to fire home from the edge of the box.
Bradley did not give up and McIntyre pulled a goal back following a corner. However, Addingham's two-goal lead was restored within minutes. Richard Campbell made it 3-1 as he lobbed a fantastic goal from the left edge of the area. Addingham should have scored at least twice more but were let down by poor finishing. Match point went to Sergio Galasso.
