Voluntary groups in Keighley have been warned their buildings may not meet new rules on access for disabled people.
Experts in disability rights and community buildings have teamed up to help groups meet the latest standards.
The Disability Discrimination Act calls for many businesses, councils or voluntary bodies to provide improvements such as ramps, lifts and disabled toilets.
Geoff Donaldson, who works for Keighley Voluntary Services, has already helped several organisations buy or improve their headquarters.
He has forged links with Keith Bell, advice officer at Keighley Disabled People's Centre in Temple Row.
Mr Donaldson, an architect, says full details of the rules are not yet available but he will prepare an information pack as soon as he can.
"As far as I'm aware the Act applies to all service providers. It may be that alteration work will be required. Some groups will have to raise money."
Mr Donaldson and Mr Bell will advise people on the cost of improvements and KVS can help groups seek funding.
Mr Donaldson is concentrating on Keighley's Single Regeneration Budget area, which includes the town centre and large council estates.
Mr Bell is willing to advise anyone on the Act's implications. He is already working with the Bankfield Hotel in Bingley.
Mr Donaldson can be contacted on (01535) 665258 and Mr Bell is on (01535) 606700.
