Bingley Harriers organised the first race in the 2000 Multi-Terrain Championship for school years four, five, six and seven boys and girls.
The first three 1,000 metre races were held in Myrtle Park, Bingley, on grass and featured 60 young athletes from Bingley Harriers, Bradford Airedale AC and Keighley and Craven AC.
The fastest of the day was Bingley harrier Alistair Brownlee (school year seven), who ran a 1km race on tarmac in Harold Park, Bradford.
The final race is on March 19 and is on the track at Greenhead Grammar School, Keighley.
Medals were provided for the first three in each age group by Bingley Harriers, with the help of the Young Athlete Development scheme sponsored by the Bradford and Bingley.

Year Five, Boys: 1 Jonathan Brownlee (Bingley Harriers) 3.24; 2 James Dunn (Bingley Harriers) 3.45; 3 Thomas Carberry (Bingley Harriers) 3.59. Girls: 1 Leah Stubbington (Keighley & Craven) 4.02; 2 Sarah Benson (Bingley Harriers) 4.13; 3 Hayley Sharpe (Bingley Harriers) 4.21.
Year Six, Boys: 1 Ben Tattersfield (Bradford Airedale) 3.30; 2 Aaron Fletcher (Bingley Harriers) 3.33; 3 Graeme Swinbank (Keighley & Craven) 3.36. Girls: 1 Stephanie McCartney (Keighley & Craven) 3.48; 2 Rebecca McCartney (Keighley & Craven) 3.52; 3 Emma Sefton (Keighley & Craven) 4.11.
Year Seven, Boys: 1 Alistair Brownlee (Bingley Harriers) 3.15; 2 Sam Pearson (Bingley Harriers) 3.39; 3 Philip Picken (Bingley Harriers) 3.43. Girls: 1 Lucy Mayho (Bingley Harriers) 3.28; 2 Jill Harrison (Keighley & Craven) 3.32; 3 Leanne Newiss (Bingley Harriers) 3.36.
