Residents in Pool-in-Wharfedale are bracing themselves for another planning battle.
Bryant Homes has appealed against the non-determination of plans for nine, four-bedroom detached houses at the Whitegates site in Arthington Lane.
That means the plans will be decided by a Government planning inspector because the council has taken longer than eight weeks to rule on the application.
Councillors on Pool Parish Council are still angry after a public inquiry last May found in favour of Redrow Homes and their plans for more than 100 homes off Swallow Drive. They claimed Leeds City Council's planning officers "misrepresented" the village.
The city Council has pledged to fight the Bryant Homes plan, which it says would worsen road safety in Arthington Lane and take away green space.
Pool council chairman, Coun Chris Leggatt, said: "To put such a development on a double S-bend is totally unacceptable."
West Yorkshire fire chiefs have said the Swallow Drive site needs at least two access points for safety. Thirty-six objections were lodged by villagers and Pool Parish Council. MP Harold Best also voiced concerns about the Swallow Drive plans.
