The funeral has taken place of a mother-of-three, who died after her car was in an accident with a fire engine on an emergency call.
Sharon Southgate-Hesling, a 37-year-old divorcee of Airedale Avenue, Cottingley, died of multiple injuries following an accident near Nab Wood Crematorium on the A650 on Thursday, January 13.
The fire engine was answering a 999 call from the Jarvis Bankfield Hotel in Bradford Road, Bingley. It later turned out to be a false alarm.
Police say they are at a loss to explain how the accident happened. Sgt Brian Pickford, of Eccleshill Traffic Police, said despite interviewing witnesses who had come forward, it was still a mystery why Mrs Southgate-Hesling's SEAT Cordoba had been on the offside of the road.
He said: "What made her do that manoeuvre is still a mystery, we will have to wait for the inquest to try to find out."
Her funeral was held at Nab Wood Crematorium yesterday.
