Stan Collymore and Jorge Cadete could form a dream strikeforce as Bradford City look to step up their bid for Premiership survival.
As exclusively revealed in the Telegraph & Argus yesterday, Collymore has already spoken to City with further talks planned for early next week.
And chairman Geoffrey Richmond today said he is set to meet former Celtic ace Cadete in Bradford on Monday to discuss a planned move to Valley Parade.
That opens the way for Paul Jewell to unleash his own C-force strike partnership on the Premiership.
Asked if City were keen to bring both strikers to Valley Parade, Richmond said: "Paul Jewell has said since the Sheffield Wednesday defeat that he wants to make signings.
"And the clear implication from that is we are hoping more than one player will be coming to Bradford City.
"We are very optimistic here by nature and we remain confident something will materialise with either player."
City have no game this weekend which means Jewell has a welcome chance to bolster his squad ahead of the home clash with Arsenal on February 5.
Cadete has just six months of his contract with Benfica remaining and City are looking to take him on loan until the end of the season.
Richmond said: "Jorge is coming over on Monday with his advisers which I take as an encouraging sign because he is making the effort to fly in from Portugal.
"The deal would involve a short-term contract until the end of the season with an option to extend for either one or two more years.
"The short-term deal is a free transfer but if we take up the option of an extension, we will have to pay Benfica a substantial fee because they will have waived his registration for the last six months of his deal with them."
Cadete, who scored 38 goals in his 49 appearances for Celtic in his 13-month stay in Scotland, returned to Portugal in the summer of 1997.
He is currently struggling with a slight thigh strain but it is not too serious to scupper any deal with agent Paul Barbosa saying: "Over the next few days I will discuss Bradford's offer with Jorge. There is no rush because he is currently recovering from an injury.
"But we will then have a conversation with Bradford over the possibility of a move. The transfer will of course depend on what Bradford are prepared to offer Jorge."
The news that City may bring in two new strikers to the club has sparked speculation that one of the current forwards may be on their way out of Valley Parade.
However Richmond said: "There has been no movement or enquiries to report for any of our players at this moment in time."
