PHOENIX allowed Campion to force a County Cup replay -- even though the opposition were down to nine men in the second half.
The Bradford side had two players sent off for serious foul play, but managed to take Phoenix to a replay at Marley tomorrow (Saturday). The first half produced plenty of opportunities for both sides, but there were no goals.
Dale Hoyle broke the deadlock early in the second half when a clearance from the Phoenix defence found Mick Gilmartin and his first time lob over the Campion defence put Hoyle clear.
Campion levelled after a free kick was not cleared and a Bradford forward blasted home from close range.
Phoenix regained the lead after Jimmy Spencer and Graham Bairstow combined passes down the right. Bairstow's pass to Furness split the Campion defence and Furness held of strong challenges to score from 15 yards out.
The home side equalised again straight away with a looping shot into the far corner.
Hoyle slotted in the rebound after a Jimmy Spencer shot was fumbled by the Campion keeper, but Campion continued to push forward and were rewarded when Yates brought them level to force the replay.
The match at Marley kicks off at 1.45.
Silsden continued their success at the top of the Second Division with a 2-0 victory over Brighouse Town Reserves. Steve Gray and Rob Pearson were on target for the Cobbydale side.
Shamrocks continued their winning run with a 3-0 victory over Dudley Hill Rangers.
Paul Driver scored the first after Howard Wellwood beat two men and Driver made no mistake. Wellwood was on hand to supply the ball for Driver to volley home the second.
Dudley Hill came out with more fire after the break and keeper Dave Varley showed his form tipping over a string of goal-bound shots to keep Shamrocks in the lead.
They went 3-0 up when Gavin Thompson side-footed home after good work from John Spurr to seal the points. It was not the best performance from Shammies, but they still managed to come away with valuable points.
Shamrocks Reserves reached the semi-final of the League Cup with a well earned 1-0 win at Crag Road -- their third game without conceding a goal.
As in previous weeks they missed plenty of chances, but took the lead in the first half after a hand ball in the area, Dean Condren smashed home a powerful penalty giving the keeper no chance.
Cragg had most of the play in the second half but found Shamrocks were in no mood to surrender their lead. Steve Dovenor made some vital saves and Stuart Whitehead was man of the match while Tim Heap had a brilliant game giving the Gragg Road defence a hard time.
Steeton went down 2-1 to Westbrook Wanderers in the Division Two Cup. Westbrook grabbed victory with a second half goal after being held 1-1 at the break.
