Many of you will remember about this time a year ago we carried out a survey of readers to find out how you felt about the Keighley News.
That ranged from the size of the newspaper, the content and the publication day.
Your responses were extremely valuable - so good they have been studied by our national research team.
At the same time we told you about our new press modifications and that the company was spending £3 million on the presses. These developments would enable us to use more colour and have different pagination.
As you know, the major part of the research has been done into the format size of the Keighley News.
We are now able to progress with the next stage - to look at other options now available to us.
At the risk of confusing the issue, we can now even print a traditional broadsheet and the smaller size at the same time.
The Keighley News was first published in 1862 and I'm sure you would all agree that to make any major change to such an important part of the life of Keighley and district needs extremely careful consideration.
For example, last year's surveys showed eight out of ten would prefer a smaller size. That still left a lot of readers who would be unhappy to see such a dramatic change.
The analysis has also shown the type of content you want to see, such as widening our entertainments listings to cover a wider geographic area.
Your views and wishes are paramount to planning the future of the Keighley News so that we can provide the best service possible. As soon as possible I will share the latest views with you. Meanwhile, I would like to personally thank all of you for your support and for helping me and the team to achieve another sales increase.
