WHEN Keighley meet Cardiff on Sunday they will add another chapter to the strong Welsh connections runing through the club's history.
Ebbw Vale travelled to Lawkholme in 1907 to become the first Welsh 'rugby league' team to play outside the principality and the Cougar Hall of Fame recently received news from the valleys that Fred Talbot, a member of Keighley's 1937 Wembley side, is alive and well.
Fred was one of eight Welshmen in Keighley's Cup final team, and he has presented the shirt he wore on that day to the Hall of Fame collection. The other Welsh members of the team were Herbert, Towill, Parker, Lloyd, Bevan, Davies and Hal Jones. The shirt Jones wore when Wales beat France in 1935 will also be on display at the club.
Other Keighley players to wear the 'Three Feathers' include Len Orchard, Stuart Gallagher, Colin Evans, and more recently Andy Eyres and Jason Lee.
