A Keighley woman who lost her son in a tragic taxi accident has said she will never get over his death.
Stuart Lister died last May after jumping from a taxi in Skipton Road, Steeton.
His mother Christine Lister, manager of the Grouse Inn, Steeton, said she and her two other children were struggling to come to terms with losing Stuart.
"I can't explain how bad it feels to lose a child. The pain is so intense and it never goes away," she said.
Stuart, 18, was found bleeding at the side of Skipton Road, Steeton, Keighley, just half a mile from his home in Thornhill Road, Steeton, after a night out in Keighley.
He died from severe head injuries four days later.
Earlier this week taxi driver Mohammed Riaz Shaban, 23, of View Road, Utley, was banned from driving for 12 months after being found guilty by Halifax magistrates of obstructing police investigating the accident. He admitted failing to report an accident and was ordered to pay £120 costs and serve a community service order of 120 hours for each offence to run concurrently.
Mrs Lister said: "I can't believe Stuart refused to pay the taxi fare, but now we will never know what happened that night."
The Lister family had celebrated Stuart's 18th birthday the week before his death.
Mrs Lister that his sister Joanne was finding it particularly difficult as she was away at university when the accident happened. "She's really only just started to grieve for her brother. It has been awful for all of us. I walk up to the road and look at the spot where he was found and can't believe it."
