A man was recovering in hospital from serious stab wounds after an incident in Bradford early today.
Police and an ambulance crew were called to a phone kiosk in North Avenue, off Queens Road in Manningham, just before 1am.
A police spokesman said: "They found a man in his early 20s outside the kiosk. He was unconscious with serious injuries.
"He was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary where he is in a serious but stable condition."
The identity of the man has yet to be released.
Two men and a woman were later arrested by police at addresses in the area. Detectives were today questioning the trio at Toller Lane police station.
The area where the victim was found was sealed off to the public to prevent any contamination of the scene. A white police tent was erected around the phone box to allow officers to make further detailed examinations. Residents living in North Avenue spoke today of their shock at what had happened.
One man, who did not wish to be named, said: "No one quite knows what has happened because it appears to have gone on late at night, but it's not a nice thing to find out about when you wake up in a morning."
Police officers were patrolling the site where the man was found, which is near the Carlton Hotel.
