SAM CLEGG was crowned Bradford School cross-country champion and will lead a strong Keighley contingent to the county finals tomorrow (Saturday).
Sam, a pupil at Oakbank school, won the junior boys event ahead of Dean Cunningham of Bronte School.
Oakbank and Bronte made it a Keighley 'one-two' in the junior girls team event with Rebecca Long of Bronte in second place ahead of Emma Hollindrake (Oakbank). They will be joined in the county finals by Georgina Cooper and Nicola Mohamet, both from Oakbank.
The sports college team also won the Intermediate girls event with Helen Glover third, Laura Greenham, fourth, and Kaisleigh Greenham, seventh. Oakbank were second in the intermediate boys team event with Tony Cade (5), Alex Austerberry (6) and Tom Cannon (8) making the county finals.
David Needham from Oakbank will run in the senior boys race.
Oakbank cross country coach Will Smith said: "The athletes have done very well, both individually and as teams. Good performances this weekend could see us with representatives in the national finals of the competition."
