SKYLARK Leisure entrepreneur Brendan Larkin is obviously not going to lose out at anything if he can help it.
His Skylark Superstars team entered in the Thursday night league at Larkin's On-The-Ball centre in Yeadon includes former professionals John Hendrie and Bruce Bannister.
Larkin however does not let the former League stars grab all the glory for he and his son Cory were among the scorers as Skylark thrashed Deportivo La Cookridge 8-0 in the latest round of matches.
Alcoholics Anonymous netted nine against Misfitz who replied with three while Dumpy Taverners beat The Yodi Crew 8-2 with Dumpy showing they can score from anywhere.
Athletico Wibsey had a narrow 5-4 win over Mighty Spurs in a game marred by two early sendings-off.
Wibsey were the more gritty side with Lynn grabbing the winner with seconds to spare.
Otters Crotch beat The Alan Partridge Project 5-0 with 'keeper Walker making some fine saves.
After just two games Skylark lead the way with six points from Alcoholics Anonymous, Dumpy Taverners, Otters Crotch and Athletico Wibsey all with four.
In their two games Skylark have netted 19 goals and conceded just three but it may be that their age will tell against some of the more youthful sides.
Tonight, Thursday, in the league sponsored by Bannister's Sportshoes Unlimited, Alcoholics Anonymous meet Otters Crotch at 6.30 pm; Wibsey meet Misfitz at 7 pm, Deportivo meet Mighty Spurs at 7.30 pm, Dumpy Taverners play Sylark in the game to watch at 8 pm and Alan Partridge Project play Yodi in the last match at 8.30 pm.
The knock-out cup and presentation evening will take place at On-The-Ball on Sunday, February 20, with the cup kicking-off at 4.30 pm. Cups and medals will be presented to the Sunday evening Premier and First Division winners by a celebrity sporting guest.
l Any teams interested in entering indoor soccer competitions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Fridays should contact Cory Larkin at On-The-Ball on 0113 2500099 or Steve Collingwood on 07939 208461.
