FOLLOWING a very successful Christmas Draw Menston Cricket Club are now planning their next fund raising event - the annual sportsman's dinner.
This will take place at The Allerton, Alwoodley, on Friday, March 3, and will be a lounge suits affair. Speakers will be former British Lion John Bentley, former England cricketer Peter Parfitt and top judge Sir Harry Ognall, QC. The MC will be Charlie Parker. The first prize of a colour television in the Christmas draw was won by Hedley Houseman with Windsor Roberts winning a £100 Safeway voucher, Roger Varley winning champagne and George Dracup a meal for four at The Fox.
The club is planning to organise indoor nets.
