Once again Saturday's league programme was decimated by the weather. Only two cup matches were completed out of 11 scheduled and just four of the 14 planned league matches went ahead.

It looks like being a similar story again this week with a terrible weather forecast for the weekend.

The disruption to the cup competitions is so serious that the league's Management Committee has brought forward its February meeting to try to salvage the competitions for this season.

Sutton managed to play their Division One clash with St Pauls despite the horrendous conditions with both teams, and the referee, being congratulated on completing the match in a sporting and sensible manner. Both teams attempted to play football despite the conditions with Saints opening the scoring after 20 minutes.

Sutton quickly drew level when Paul Hitch headed home a Danny Newton corner and just on the break Jon Reape headed Sutton into the lead.

The second half saw St Pauls equalise, but Sutton were looking for two points and their enterprise in pushing forward was rewarded was rewarded when Jon Reape restored the lead. Shortly afterwards a quick one-two with Danny Newston saw Pat Page shoot past the advancing keeper. The goal gave Sutton breathing space, but all out attack brought St Pauls their third goal and left Sutton hanging on desperately for two points.

Addingham continued their impressive performance with a 5-1 victory over Intake.

In Division Two Horton had the edge over Gargrave with a 5-4 win. Settle also claimed a single goal victory over Settle with the match ending 3-2.

Clitheroe United swept Bradley aside with a 4-1 victory in the Division One Cup and Intake reserves beat Addingham Reserves 3-2 in the Division Three Cup.
