Two goals in the second half from Edna Smith and Vicky Ellis gave Silsden a chance to turn their Knockout Cup second round game around against Premier Division side Thorpe -- but they could not force an equaliser.
Silsden should have taken the lead in the first 10 minutes when Shelley Donohoe smashed a shot against the post from 10 yards out. They missed another two chances before Thorpe opened the scoring, and the Premier outfit added a second just before the break.
The referee awarded Thorpe a penalty five minutes into the second half which they tucked away to make it 3-0. Silsden battled back to get their two goals, but were unable to force an equaliser.
Vicky Hanson won her first woman of the match award of the season. Silsden play Thorpe again at Silsden on February 20 in the County Cup when they will be out for revenge.
On Sunday they are at home to Barnlsey Reserves.
