Only two matches survived the atrocious weather on Sunday when Three Horses took advantage to beat Albert 9-0 in the Premier Division.
Although Albert's form has showed a tremendous improvement this season, they didn't seem to relish playing in the strong wind and driving rain.
Mick Dowse scored four and Damien Rowell added a hat-trick and there was one each for Ian Smith and team manager Chris Mcloughlin who had been called in to fill the breach.
The First Division match between current leaders, Keighley Victoria, and Silsden Athletic was a much closer affair with four goals shared between the teams.
An inspired performance by Graeme Stott, in his last game of the season for Vics, helped his side stay in the match. Athletic took the lead, but Victoria equalised within 10 minutes after some battling work by Steve Smith gave him an opening.
Silsden had secured a 2-1 lead by the break and held out until the last few minutes when Steve Bradshaw equalised for Three Horses. Neil Pepper scored both Silsden's goals.
Stott and Chris Hughes should take the honours for keeping Keighley Victoria's momentum going.
The First Division match between Bridge and Bocking at Shipley started, but had to be abandoned at half time after the weather made the pitch unsafe. Four goals were scored by Bocking before the game was halted with A Chaplain and D Midgley scoring two each.
Alliance League officials are concerned about the decline in teams playing Sunday football and are to survey all clubs in the district to try to discover what they require from a league. They also hope to attract teams from the Craven area where there are few Sunday teams.
The league is also launching a special drive to attract youth teams which have reached the end of the youth league structure. "It is sad that after years of enjoying football at junior level many of these teams simply fold and many players do not progress into senior football, we want to give them an opportunity to continue playing together," a league official said.
Any teams interested in joining the league, or people with ideas to benefit Sunday Football should contact league secretary, Allan Feather, on 01535-274376.
