The friends of a boy who suffered horrendous injuries when he fell from a railway bridge on to electric cables have repaid the medics who have helped him rebuild his life.
John Walker, 15, of West Royd, Shipley, was paralysed from the waist down and suffered burns when he fell 30ft on to 25,000 volt cables last April.
But now other patients suffering from spinal injuries in Pinderfields Hospital, Wakefield, where John was treated, are set to benefit thanks to money raised by his friends in Shipley.
Regulars at the Britannia Inn in Valley Road, Shipley, have helped John's mum Michelle raise more than £800 to buy four televisions and video recorders for the patients at Pinderfields.
Marina Wilcock, licensee at the Britannia Inn, delivered the televisions to the spinal injuries unit at the hospital yesterday.
She said: "John was in there for about five months and they were really good to him so we thought it would be nice to give them something back."
Mrs Wilcock said she would like to thank an anonymous donor who gave a £1,000 computer to help him carry on with his school studies.
John's mum Michelle Walker, said: "I've been amazed at the reception John's had since he came out of hospital. He was a bit of a rogue before the accident so I didn't think that people would bother but the response has been fantastic."
