A Keighley police officer flew off to work with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department in an effort to share knowledge of working on either side of the Atlantic.
Special constable Andrew Steele left on Tuesday for almost two weeks in the US, splitting his time between business and policing.
Andrew, who has been a special for over three years, says: "We are always keen to learn from other forces. I am hoping the invitation to visit the LA department will give me an extra chance to gather ideas that can be put into action back in Keighley."
Andrew decided to spend some time with the LA police after he found he had to make a trip to the US as part of his day job as a media consultant.
l Look out for a report on Andrew's experiences in the Keighley News when he gets back.
