PHOENIX returned to winning ways in the league with a 4-1 victory over Crage Road United.
The visitors took the lead when the Keighley side's defence failed to clear the ball after a Crag attack, winger Andy Gaunt turning man of the match Rob Henson to curl the ball past Paul Linyard.
Phoenix equalised when Steve Lister shook off three strong tackles from 30-yards out and stabbed the ball home from close range. After manager Paul Ettenfield's half time team talk Phoenix began to play the attractive football which has been their trademark over the last few seasons and Crag couldn't cope.
Phoenix's second goal came after a Crag corner was cleared for Dale Hoyle to break from defence, taking the ball from box to box and squaring to Michael Gilmartin who cleverly chipped the advancing keeper.
The Keighley side was soon 3-1 up when a through ball from midfield was missed by a Crag defender allowing Hoyle to square to Gilmartin who side-footed home from clsoe range. The same combination made it 4-1, again Hoyle squaring to Gilmartin who was denied his fourth goal when he was given offside, with three Crag players in front of him, and with only the goalkeeper to beat. He was through again and looked certain to score when the referee blew for full time.
This weekend Phoenix are away to Altofts in the league (ko2.30).

Steve Pamment scored from outside the box and Liam Bellamy snatched a superb hat-trick. Revis Sharpe marshalled his defence well and Liam Bellamy was man of the match.
