ON Friday both Ilkley Moor mens and Ladies teams played at home in the Bradford League.

The men's team played against North Bradford and continued their winning form with an 8-1 win. The new partnership of 15 year-old Stewart Ellis and Peter Gill show great promise for the future. Stewart played exceptionally well and the pair won all three of their games.

The other two pairings were Robert Boyle and Matthew Brown who won three rubbers, and Chris Ludlam and Bernie Hepworth, who was playing in his first match for Ilkley Moor, winning two rubbers.

The ladies team played Bingley and secured their second 9-0 of the season. After a slow start to the season the Ladies are now moving up the table thanks to their last two convincing wins. There was no club night on Friday due to the two matches being played, but all will be back to normal on Friday, February 11.

Any badminton players interested in joining the club to play either social or competitive badminton can contact Sue on (01943) 609137 .
