Ilkley AFC 2
BORO'BRIDGE 1
ILKLEY went through to the semi-finals of the Harrogate League Challenge Cup with a hard-fought win over fellow Premier Division side Boroughbridge.
In a closely fought game it was Boroughbridge who opened the scoring when Binks stole a yard on the home defence before crashing an unstoppable shot past Williams into the far corner of the net.
Ilkley deservedly equalised on the half hour mark when Richard Giles whipped over a corner and Glen Riley soared above the defence to powerfully head home at the far post.
Boroughbridge had a slight wind behind them in the second-half and Ilkley had their 'keeper Williams to thank for some impressive saves.
The home side were to finish the stronger with Riley rattling the bar before Rick Wilson produced a stunning strike from a tight angle. The ball dipped and curved into the top corner of the net.
Alan Stockdale saw his effort parried onto the bar and although Ilkley were made to work hard in the end they were deserved winners. They have now reached their third semi-final of the season.
