When Jim Millar was made redundant at 55 he feared he might not get another job.
But within a month he had secured a new position thanks to POPE - People of Previous Experience - the Bradford-based recruitment agency which helps jobless people over 40 go back to work.
Jim, of Brighouse, worked for 12 years for Ciba Speciality Chemicals - the former Allied Colloids business in Low Moor. He was the firm's systems co-ordinator for the last five years. But when he and other colleagues were made redundant last year they feared the worst.
But POPE found him a post as a senior claims co-ordinator with Bradford & District Training & Enterprise Council working in the New Deal section which helps others find jobs.
He said: "As part of the redundancy scheme at Ciba we were given a chance to attend a course with POPE. It immediately restored my confidence and within days I had the job interview with the TEC.''
