Dougie Lampkin won a sensational world title trial in a packed Barcelona arena.
The Silsden rider triumphed in the fourth round of the FIM World Indoor Cup in front of 12,000 screaming, horn-blowing Spanish fans.
Dougie produced a performance which swamped local hero and in-form Marc Colomer with ease.
The Spaniard threw down the gauntlet in the qualifiers, beating Lampkin over the nine sections. But the Yorkshireman bounced back in the speed decider to beat Colomer who fell.
The Spaniard then incurred five penalty marks when he slid off slippery concrete pipes.
That proved decisive with Lampkin winning both speed runs and remaining unpenalised in the ensuing tests.
The Radson Montesa reigning world champion then lifted his performance into another gear to overwhelm the top-class field that included English riders Steve Colley and Graham Jarvis.
The Silsden rider heads for Bremen in Germany on Friday night with a ten-point advantage over Colomer in the World Cup series.
The competition is half-way through and Lampkin is determined to win his fourth title.
