CUE ace Chris Melling has been selected to play for England in the European Championships of 8-Ball Pool.
Chris, who has enjoyed a superb year which included playing in China, will be part of the five-man national team when the competition kicks off in Aberdeen on February 28.
He has also been selected to play for England in the European Championships of 9-Ball Pool which are to be held in Austria at the end of March.
"Things have been going really well for me, both at pool and snooker. On the big tables I have been regularly scoring 100-breaks and earlier this week set a new record in the Bradford League with a 103 break, and missed the last red when I was on for a 138 clearance.
"I also scored 112 in the Cross Hills league, missing the last red with a 147 maximum on the cards."
On Monday he plays three times Yorkshire Champion Craig Butler in the first round of the County Championship at the Cuedos Club in Bradford, starting at 7.30.
He is currently top of the Yorkshire and North of England pool averages, but despite his success has been asked to re-trial for the England team.
