AUSSIE Nathan Antonik is set to turn Dragon Slayer when the Cougars travel to Doncaster on Sunday determined to put last week's Challenge Cup defeat behind them.
Nathan, 24, joined Cougars from the St George club, near Sydney in New South Wales, in July 1998 and has become one of the most influential players in the team.
"Doncaster Dragons are probably the best team in the Premiership, but we can beat anybody in the division on our day. We have been training hard this week and we were taught a tough lesson by Villeneuve.
"Everybody knows what we did to Dewsbury after a poor performance against Featherstone," he said.
Coach Karl Harrison was furious with his players after their Challenge Cup defeat and called several members of the squad in for a dressing-down this week.
"A few people have been told a few home truths. Some of the players though that because we had beaten Dewsbury we could not be beaten, the training all week had been slip shod.
"Everybody that pulls on a Cougar jersey must be committed to the club-- and if they aren't I will find somebody who is," he declared.
He added that rumours of a pre-match row with Martin Wood were untrue.
"Stories that me and Martin have been falling out and fighting are just not true -- there is no truth in the rumours at all," he said.
Wood pulled out of the match on Sunday morning after a knee injury, which he picked up last season, caused problems. "Hopefully he will be able to get through the game this weekend, and then we have a week's break to organise some treatment."
Jason Ramshaw is a major injury blow an is expected to be out for at least 10 weeks after tearing the medial ligament in his knee.
"At first I thought I had just taken a knock on my knee, but then it just collapsed. I've seen a specialist and was told it will be eight weeks before I can start training again," he said.
n Cougars are holding a sale at the club shop in the Devonshire Arcade, Keighley, with last year's shirts selling for £10 each. The new 'Woof' replica shirts are due to be on sale next month.
n Sunday's game is at Doncaster Rovers' Belle View ground (follow signs for the racecourse) and kicks off at 3.00pm.
