Brewers Timothy Taylor & Co are sure to win two prizes at the beer industry 'Oscars' in April.
The Knowle Spring Brewery has had two of it beers nominated in the most prestigious category, the real ale championship, in the Brewing Industry International Awards 2000.
Golden Best has been nominated in the lowest strength class and Landlord has been nominated in the medium strength class, where it won the silver medal two years ago. Taylors are assured of two medals, but will not find out whether they will be gold, silver or bronze until the London awards in April.
Over 730 beers were entered in the eight different categories in the competition, each with three classes of strength awarding the three colours of medal. In the real ales category Timothy Taylor beat off competition from 163 other beers to win two out of nine nominations.
Head brewer Peter Eells says he is particularly proud of Golden Best's performance as it is a traditionally drunk town ale.
He says: "Almost all Golden Best is sold in Keighley. Keighley is one of the last towns with a town brewery making the town's beer. There are not many left."
He adds: "Originally that's how it all started in Victorian times."
