Phoenix came away with an impressive 4-0 victory from their visit to in form Fields.
The Keighley side attacked from the start and fullback Martin Ross cross for Danny Spencer, but their early threat flew over the bar. Minutes later Spencer went close again.
They took the lead when a long ball from Ben Furness was kept in by Jimmy Spencer who found Joe Bryceland, he headed on to the far post where Dale Hoyle was waiting to head home from close range after out-jumping two defenders and the goalkeeper.
Phoenix almost increased their lead when a Mick Gilmartin cross found Jimmy Spencer. His shot was tipped over by the Field keeper.
The second goal came when Danny Spencer won a free kick 40 yards out. Jimmy Spencer's cross found Hoyle whose powerful header gave the keeper no chance. Phoenix went 3-0 up when another free kick from Spencer again found Hoyle who seemed to panic the defence and Andy McGovern headed home an own goal.
Just before half time Fields came close to scoring from a corner, but Linyard saved well.
In the second half Danny Spencer went close, but the best move of the match came when Mark Atkins won the ball and sent a long pass to Gilmartin who rounded the keeper to score.
Phoenix continued to push forward with Danny Spencer, Hoyle and Ross going close. Phoenix are away at Littletown on Saturday, knockout 2.30.
Silsden blasted their way to a 10-0 victory over Ovenden Reserves to climb further away at the top of the Second Division.
Steve Gray and Bob Pearson scored two each with Andy Geary also scoring twice. The win keeps them eight points clear of neighbours Keighley Shamrocks, who lead the pack.
Shamrocks had to settle for a 1-1 draw with Dale Hannon scoring their second half goal against Baildon Trinity.
Phoenix Reserves let a one-goal lead and a one-man advantage slip in a poor second half performance as they went down 3-1 at Dudley Hill.
Things started brightly and Roy Mason should have given them an early lead when he hit the bar from Richard Huck's knock down. Phoenix's pressure took its toll and the referee sent off a player for an off the ball incident.
Mason capitalised by putting Phoenix in the lead and Liam Daley put another good chance over the bar. Disaster struck when a defensive mix-up left Hill with a free kick on the edge of the six-yard box and they found a way through the wall for an equaliser.
After the break Phoenix were reduced to long throws from Stuart Hudson which rarely threatened. Keeper Heath Maddocks was left red faced after he attempted to kick away a clearance and saw the ball spin under his foot to give Dudley Hill a 2-1 lead. In the last minute Phoenix were caught on the break, and although the Dudley Hill striker looked suspiciously offside the referee let play go on and he made no mistake.
Tomorrow (Saturday) they take on Silsden in a local derby at Utley (ko 2.30).
Steeton's nightmare season continued with a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Salts. Rob Barker scored Steeton's only goal. Now the Summerhill side have to work hard to avoid relegation.
