NEWS that Titanic star Kate Winslet is pregnant has especially thrilled a Guiseley couple - they are to become great grand-parents.
Norman Threapleton, whose grandson James is married to the star actress said he and his wife Jean were thrilled at the news that the couple are expecting their first child.
He said: "We are very pleased about it. We are not surprised because she has always stated that she wants a family. She is very down to earth and not publicity seeking."
Mr Threapleton said work commitments had kept Kate and assistant film director James, right, away from Yorkshire but that he was hoping to celebrate with the couple soon.
He said: "We do not see much of her with her travels and commitments be we are hoping that we shall be doing very soon."
He added: "We do not know if they want a boy or a girl. Whatever she has it will be very welcome. It is wonderful news." (s)
