The foundation stones have been laid for a Haworth sculpture project. Three boulders from Gillson's Quarry were delivered to the Gas Street car park by Keighley firm Powerrun on Saturday. A group of volunteers had prepared the ground for them.
The project, funded by a £750 Millennium Project grant from Keighley Area Panel, is to improve a corner of the car park.
Rachel Wilson, of local environmental group Chain Reaction, which organised the project, says: "It looks really good - it's made a difference to the car park and lifted the whole area."
The next step is to get local youngsters involved in carving symbols and lettering on the stones.
Local sculptor Martin Heron and Chain Reaction are running a workshop for 11-25-year-olds on Saturday March 25 to create designs for the stones.
This part of the project, called 'Make your Mark', will conclude with the carving on Friday April 28.
Local 11-25-year-olds interested in making their mark should contact Rachel Wilson on 675179.
Overlooking the preparation work are Kerry Heron, seven, and Miriam Wilson, eight.
