Hull Dockers 28, Keighley Albion 4 - Albion travelled to Humberside to face fifth in table Hull Dockers looking to pick up two points after two home defeats, albeit from healthy leads.
From the first whistle Dockers showed that they were not going to be rolled over easily. In their first serious attack full back Chris Lines joined the attack and following some good open play from there own quarter he scored a try in the corner, there was no goal from this but they had a 4-0 lead after only four minutes.
Albion gradually got themselves back on the attack with Dean Brookes and John Gwilliam to the fore , Albion then missed a penalty goal attempt after the Dockers had been penalised for a high tackle. Both teams were throwing the ball about and it was good open rugby league as play went from end to end, but on 24 minutes Albion gave away a penalty which Dockers stand off Chris Stephenson converted to give the home side a 6-0 advantage.
Not to be outdone Albion attacked again and had the home side back pedalling and they were caught offside but again the goal attempt went wide. Not down-hearted Albion attacked again and a well timed kick behind the Dockers defence saw Bobby Brown jump above the opposition's winger to score a well taken try. The goal attempt went wide of the posts but Albion had narrowed the score at 6-4, and were back in the game as the half time whistle went.
Albion came under the cosh int he second half as Dockers ran up a 22-4 lead.
Albion's attacks were less frequent but Dean Brookes, Rob Haughey and Paul Fryers were working overtime to haul Albion back into the game.
The Dockers went further ahead when Glen Brewer went in at the corner for an unconverted try.
Albion were still trying to close the gap but playing catch up rugby is tough going and they squandered a couple of scoring chances when the last pass went to ground. The vistors were further punished when the were caught off side and Chris Stephenson duly added the goal to his tally and increased the Dockers lead at 28-4.
After a close first half Albion were always chasing the game when Dockers scored 16 points in a 10 minute period. For Albion Dean Brookes ,Rob Haughey and Aly Feather worked hard with no reward for there efforts. For Dockers young stand off Chris Stephenson ran the game for them.
