Otley's annual Victorian Fair could become a longer and more varied event in a bid to secure its long-term future.
Following a meeting to discuss its future, Chairman Adrian Robertshaw said it was possible that the traditional fair could expand to incorporate other seasonal events.
Its future was in doubt at one time because of the lack volunteers to run it.
But Mr Robertshaw said: "This year's Otley Victorian Fair is most definitely on following a superb response to appeals for new committee members.
"We had many new ideas, suggestions and comments. These will be used along with further feedback from townspeople, community organisations, businesses and market stall holders to ensure that this year's event has even greater appeal."
He said they had ideas which should see the event running for years.
Organisers would still like to have more committee members, particularly from the business community, church organisations, schools and community organisations. The next meeting will be held on Monday, March 13 at 7.30pm in the Red Lion in Otley, More information from Adrian Robertshaw on (0113) 258 5547 or Jonathan on (01943) 461905 or e mail jonathan@otley.co.uk
