Grattan Cup and League Round-up: Holders Woodend Rangers crashed out of this season's League Cup 8-6 in an amazing quarter-final thriller at First Division leaders Bierley United.
United's goalscoring hero was Robert Harrison who got four. Their other scorers were Mark Warren with two, Michael Hayley and Andrew Warren.
Harrison put Bierley ahead, but Premier Division Woodend soon equalised.
After the game had ebbed and flowed it was Bierley who went in 3-2 in front at the break.
The second half was an end-to-end thriller, but it was Bierley who reached the semi-finals.
Division One side Bradford Moor YSA went out 1-0 to Premier Division leaders Fagley.
Both sides cancelled each other out in a goalless first half although each had a good chance to score.
Kultar Singh and Phil Clapham both headed against the crossbar, the Fagley goalkeeper made three excellent saves and Bradford Moor had a penalty appeal turned down.
The tie was settled with a cruel deflection, the ball hitting Mohammed Shabber and going into his own net.
Two Premier Division clubs fell to lower division sides in the Supplementary Cup.
Second Division Cross Keys beat Victoria 10-4.
Keys were 6-1 up at half-time after having seven chances and putting all but one of them away.
Victoria played into the wind in the second half and pulled the score back to 7-4, but Cross Keys then scored three more goals without reply.
Their scorers were Gavin Ward (4), Mark Scott (2), Craig Reynolds, Andy Field, Andy Robinson and Warren Kershaw.
First Division Brook Hansen added to Premier side Lexicon's problems by dumping them out of the cup 4-0, but it took until the 50th minute for them to score their first goal, Chris Wilkin getting the first goal of his hat-trick.
Wilkin got another seven minutes later before Andy Newton added a third after 78 minutes and Wilkin completed his hat-trick.
In the Premier Division second-placed Mail Coach beat bottom club Hudsons 4-1 to move closer to leaders Fagley.
East Bowling rose to third place after beating Mailcoach B 3-1.
In an even first half Bowling took the lead after 15 minutes through Mudge Malik, but Mail Coach levelled ten minutes later.
Malik restored Bowling's lead 20 minutes into the second half and five minutes later Justin Lundie put the result beyond doubt with their third goal.
Smiling Mule's improvement continued with a 4-1 win over bottom club Gallopers. Simon Marriotte (2), Charlie White and Douglas Styles were their scorers.
In Division Two second-placed Strachans beat third-placed One In Twelve 3-2, but the match was marred by a serious injury to Stachans player Craig Holmes.
He broke his leg after going for a 50-50 ball and the game was held up for half an hour while he was treated and taken to hospital.
One In Twelve went 2-0 up before Strachans levelled the scores with goals from Paul Jennings and a Steve Crossley penalty.
Stuart Everson then scored the winner with 20 minutes to go.
