A record number of entries - more than 500 - were recorded at this year's Bingley Robertshaw Festival.
The speech and drama event, founded in 1932, was held at Bingley Grammar School.
Forty eight-year-olds competed for the Wilson Centre Trophy, won by Adriana Gentile, of Keighley.
Richard Baugh, of Oxenhope, defeated 28 five-year-olds to win the Stephanie Bicker trophy and Jessica Ramsey, of Bramley, beat 35 six-year-olds to take the Lady Lane Park School trophy.
But the organisers were disappointed there were no entries for the choral speaking class. The National Curriculum was blamed for hampering teachers' efforts to prepare children for events like this.
Chairman Tom Walls, of Otley, added: "We were really stretched this year to provide staff for the event.
"We had a record number of entries - over 500. We ran four classes simultaneously, and had to hold an extra session on Saturday evening.
"Everyone coped marvellously in difficult circumstances, (the school is undergoing an extensive refurbishment programme) and the weekend was a great success."
