Terriers 'A' are only two matches away from clinching the Second Division Championship of the Keighley & District Table Tennis League.
Following their 10-0 hammering of John Haggas' they visited title rivals Embassy, who needed a big win against the hospital team to put themselves in the driving seat.
Things looked good for the hosts who, after slipping up in the first when Mark Emmott defeated Dave Kitson 18-21, 23-21, 14-21, raced into a 3-1 lead thanks to a couple for Matthew Mellor against Tim Boothman 21-13, 21-16 and Mark Emmott 21-15, 21-23, 21-17. Team mate Carl White easily beat Paul Beck 21-11, 21-7.
Undeterred, Terriers levelled with wins from Beck against Kitson (21-18, 20-22, 21-14) and Boothman against White (13-21, 21-19, 21-18). Further wins from Mellor against Beck and White against Emmott pushed the Bingley team ahead again but Boothman got the better of Kitson 21-11, 21-19 in the ninth to set the doubles up for Emmott and Boothman to level matters 15-21, 21-19, 21-17 against Mellor and White.
In Division Three, although beating their own 'D' team 10-0, it looks as though Terriers 'C' will have to settle for runners-up spot as they still trail Oakbank Juniors, who have a game in hand, by two points.
No one did better than Steve Wands, who should relish performing at a higher level next season. His three straight wins against Craig Walton, Mark Aspinall and Jane Boyes were as accomplished as they were effortless.
