Mr J A H Cartwright, the club treasurer, presented the accounts, which showed a good year's finances and credit was given to the general committee for their careful handling of club business. Messrs Lesley Bray and Coy were re-elected as auditors for the year 2000.
The Tennis Section gave a verbal report on their year's progress and told members that the new floodlights were satisfactory and income would cover the cost of new bulbs and maintenance.
The president then proposed Mrs June Huggan and Mr John Cartwright to be life honorary members in recognition of their hard work and long standing membership of the club. This proposition was greeted with warm applause and complete agreement by all.

Ilkley Golf
Club Ladies
TWO more Stableford competitions were played in February, both over 11 holes and both on days when the players couldn't stop saying "Aren't we lucky with the weather!" On February 15 Ann Gillon won the Silver Division with 22 points from Ann Newman who totalled 21 points. First in the Bronze Division was Angela Jackson with 22 points from runner-up Shirley Metcalfe, who scored 19 points.
The scoring was again very close on February 29 with Liz Downs taking first place in the Silver Division with 19 points, just beating the lady captain Marjorie Bradley by one point. Once again Angela Jackson headed the field - the Bronze Division with a fine score of 25 points with the runner-up place going to Biddy Litten - 21 points.
The March Medal was played in the most appalling weather, gale force winds and driving rain threatened to flood the players off the course. Six gallant ladies battled their way around, finishing just before the greens began to disappear under water.
Special mention must be made of Ann Newman who won Division One with a back nine score of 39, a truly gutsy performance. Second was Jill Parfitt and in Division Two Maggie Mitchell just took first place from Shirley Metcalfe. Needless to say, none of the players were within their buffer zones!
Results - Division One: 78, Ann Newman (six); 87, Jill Parfitt (20). Division Two: 92, Maggie Mitchell (23); 94, Shirley Metcalfe (23).
