THE West Yorkshire Closed Judo Championships took place in the Sports Hall at Leeds University.
Junior members from Aireborough and Wharfedale Judo Club had a very good day and came away with six medals.
In the eight to 11 years age group Jodie Rockett won the Gold Medal in the 32kg category with Sara Firth winning the Silver Medal in the same category. In the same age group Joseph Selman won a Silver Medal in the 46kg category and Matthew Forrest won a Silver Medal at over 46kg.
Two more Gold Medals were won in the 12 to 15 age group with Adam Firth at 42kg and Steven Takhar at 46kg. All the above were a credit to the club.
Adam Firth recently had the distinction of representing Yorkshire and Humberside in the National Junior Team championship where although the tam didn't win a medal Adam achieved a personal goal in beating a national junior champion.
