Guiseley..........0
GUISELEY stemmed the flow of defeats by notching draws at Gainsborough Trinity on Tuesday night and at home to Colwyn Bay on Saturday.
Some may term them as points lost but in Guiseley's battle to avoid the relegation zone they are points won.
Simon Parke, playing his last match before a four match ban for attempting to strike a spectator who had racially abused him at Stalybridge, tried desperately to end his current spell with a goal.
On a very cold but dry night at Gainsborough Guiseley started well and had plenty of possession. After just ten minutes leading scorer Parke produced a left foot shot which hit a post. Two chances then fell to David Cooke who was sharing the striking duties with Parke. He had a chance with either foot but both efforts were off target.
Guiseley were enjoying most of the possession and Andrew Shuttleworth was next with a chance but his right foot effort went wide.
Early in the second-half Parke had a couple of chances one going over the bar and one being saved by the 'keeper.
Gainsborough then forced their way back into the game and Guiseley had to defend and they did so very well to emerge with a point.

Colwyn Bay...........2
WITH Simon Parke on a one match suspension David Cooke partnered Tony Agana up front for Guiseley and it was Cooke who stole the limelight scoring both the home side's goals.
Nigel Muttick was exposed in the sixth minute but Alun Evans volleyed over.
Guiseley took the lead in the 12th minute when Andy Shuttleworth broke down the left flank and his low centre was met by Cooke who steered an angled shot past 'keeper Ritchie Roberts.
They held the lead for just 60 seconds as Graham Roberts left the Guiseley defence flat-footed with a powerful header from 12 yards which caught Muttick out.
When Guiseley won their first corner Roberts could only palm away under pressure from Agana and when Cooke drove the rebound goalwards Dave Norman hacked the ball clear.
Guiseley were then caught just before the break when a powerful run by Evans saw him slide the ball to James McIlvogue and he netted with a low shot
Agana then had a header blocked and when Matt Daly's effort looked a goal all the way Ritchie Roberts made a stunning save.
Guiseley were fortunate not to concede the lead when Muttick brought down Lee Congerton and was shown the yellow card. The 'keeper atoned by saving Marc Limbert's penalty.
Roberts dived at full stretch to keep out a thunderous drive from Shuttleworth and he was tested again by a dipping shot from Cooke.
Cooke ran at the defence early in the second-half and almost forced Colin Cayton into netting an own goal. Agana put a shot wide before the game developed into a mid
field battle.
Daly got into a good position but failed to make contact before Guiseley levelled in the 75th minute. Andy Williams broke from midfield to set up Cooke whose lob from the edge of the area deceived Roberts.
In the closing stages Muttick did well to palm away a header from a Paul Mooney corner.
l On Saturday Guiseley entertain Leek Town (3pm) and then on Tuesday entertain Barrow with a 7.45 pm kick-off.
Ashton Res..............1
Guiseley Res............2
GUISELEY Reserves continued in their quest to finish second in the Lancashire League with a hard won victory at Ashton United on Saturday.
Against a tough tackling side determined to take no prisoners Guiseley showed they were up for the battle with some tough tackling of their own in midfield and defence.
Their only problems came when they got the ball forward and without Steve Daykin's presence there was no one to hold the ball up. Phil Atkinson put Guiseley's first corner straight into the 'keeper's arms and then James Shutt punched away an Ashton corner.
Again Atkinson's corner was straight into the 'keeper's arms while at the other end Shutt smothered a tame shot. Julian Wilkes got free for the first time in the 30th minute but shot wide and it looked as if neither side had enough fire power to score. Atkinson then put a good ball in and Mark Entwhistle twisted and turned to get a header in which the 'keeper scrambled to smother. Guiseley also went close when Ben Thackwray drilled in an effort from 20 yards but put it just wide.
Guiseley eventually took the lead when David Hunter's curling shot appeared to be entering the net in the 43rd minute but skipper Wilkes claimed the goal by nodding it in at the far post.
In the second-half Wilkes netted but was well off-side and the effort was ruled out. Hunter also had a goal ruled out. Ashton levelled when their bruising No 6 battled his way through to lash the ball home in the 53rd minute.
Richard Machell and Academy player Peter Sumner replaced Nathan Adams and Mark Entwhistle, who had worked tremendously hard, in a bid to step up the pressure and both made their mark. Sumner on his reserve team debut showed some good touches and stood firm in the tackle while Machell demonstrated his usual vision and accurate free-kicks.
Phil Atkinson came more into the game and Guiseley pressed forward looking for the winner.
This came when John Gallifant, who had an excellent game, rose to net a bullet header in the 69th minute. It was a goal worthy of winning any game.
In the closing stages Steve Sanders was replaced by former Hull City YTS Danny Brown who showed some neat touches in the centre of defence.
Guiseley Academy lost 2-1 to visitors Eccleshill United on Tuesday, Lee Reilly scoring their goal.
