Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz, the President of the National Bank of Poland, has been named as one of the key speakers at this year's Yorkshire International Business Convention
The event is being held at Harewood House in Leeds, on Friday June 9.
Mrs Gronkiewicz-Waltz, pictured, who was awarded the title of European Banker of the Year in 1998, took over as president in 1991, when the Polish economy was highly unstable. Over the past nine years, she has overseen the strengthening of the central bank's independence, the dynamic development of the Polish banking sector and the introduction of historical reforms to the banking system.
Today Poland has a thriving market economy and is one of the most likely Eastern European contenders to be admitted into the European Union.
Tim Sinclair, managing director of Sinclair Mason, the PR company that runs the annual event, said: "We are delighted to have Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz as a speaker at this year's Convention.
"Her achievements in reforming the Polish economy over the last decade are quite incredible and I am sure she will be an inspiration to the delegates attending."
