Tom Moore is temporarily putting his legal papers to one side to take part in a national car rally challenge.
The first stage of the Daihatsu Rally Challenge is taking place on the bike racing circuit of Olivers Mount in Scarborough. It will see a return to rallying after a break of more than 25 years.
Tom, commercial litigation specialist with West Yorkshire law firm Last Cawthra Feather, has been training hard at Rally Drive in Gainsborough, in the run-up to the event.
Tom, who lives in Halifax, has been practising on special gravel and Tarmac surfaces to prepare for the race.
Specialists in car preparation, servicing, technical aspects, driving and the complex intricacies of co-driving have been on hand to offer their professional expertise.
He will be taking part in each of the eight stages of the rally, which continues through to October. During each rally Tom will be driving a 659cc, 16-valve Daihatsu Curore Avanzato and is being sponsored by Last Cawthra Feather's clients and colleagues.
Tom said: "I am really looking forward to the first stage of the rally challenge across North Yorkshire.
"It is a difficult and challenging track but I'm sure it will prove to be very exciting. It certainly makes a change to my normal role as a solicitor."
Simon Stell, managing partner of Last Cawthra Feather which has offices in Bradford, Ilkley and Shipley, said: "We are delighted to be sponsoring Tom and wish him every success in the eight rally event.
"We will all be cheering him on at the finish line and hope he returns to work each Monday morning in one piece."
