Bradford Ladies first team finished their season at the top flight of English hockey with a 3-1 win at Southampton.
It was a result that sealed them in runners-up position in the English National Hockey League Division One and gave them their best finish in their nine years in the league.
The 3-1 scoreline did not reflect how close the match was. An outstanding display by Bradford's Dutch goalkeeper Lucille Klaasenbos kept Southampton out.
Bradford stepped up their play after conceding early pressure and took the lead when Inman converted a penalty corner move following a rebound.
In the 24th minute, a skilful run from central striker Nadine Merabi led to Bradford being awarded a penalty stroke as a Southampton defender tackled illegally. Sara Whitehouse converted the stroke to put Bradford 2-0 ahead.
The next goal could have come from either side, but Bradford took the opportunity at a penalty corner which was struck by Jill Atkins to beat the keeper for their third goal.
Southampton's determination paid off when they pulled a goal back from a penalty corner.
But Bradford finished the game strongly and missed several chances to score a fourth goal.
Although the National League fixtures are now complete, several Bradford players will be involved in the Senior County Championships weekends.
Juniors Nadine Meraki and Hannah Linforth will be representing England in the Home Countries and European Nations Tournaments.
Bradford's second team finished their County League programme with a resounding 5-0 victory over Halifax and Calder first team in the Yorkshire Premier League.
Netherwood Ladies drew with Huddersfield in Yorkshire League Division Four.
