Bradford will host their first schoolboy international for seven years when England play Scotland in the under-18s Centenary Shield at Valley Parade next Friday (7pm).
The match, organised by Bradford Schools FA, is being billed as the first England-Scotland match of the new millennium. It was due to be played on Friday, February 18, but was postponed because the pitch was unfit.
The last schoolboy international to be played in Bradford was in June 1991 when England drew with the former West Germany in an under-15s match at Valley Parade.
English Schools FA chairman Geoff Lee said: "Schools internationals between England and Scotland have nearly always been closely fought encounters.
"Last season's game at Hearts resulted in a goalless draw."
Unfortunately from a local point of view, England have no players from West Yorkshire in their squad.
The only players from any part of Yorkshire are the Sheffield College pair Lee Thompson and Mark Ward.
Tickets are priced £5 for adults and £3 for children and senior citizens.
Family group deals are also on offer. The family deal comprises two adults and three children or one adult and four children for £15.
The group offer is £36 for two adults to be admitted free if they are accompanied by 12 children.
Tickets are available from Ian Fox, at 4 Hellewell Street, Bradford. Telephone 01274 677860 for further information.
They are also available from Valley Parade, but the schools FA are keen to stress spectators can pay at the gate.
