Enterprising firms in West and North Yorkshire are being challenged to get out of bed earlier to market their services.
The message comes from Business Network International which brings groups of business people together over a weekly breakfast to generate extra business for each other.
The organisation says that on average new members gain more than £12,000 of extra business in their first year.
Tomorrow 70 of Yorkshire's early-bird businessmen and women are expected to attend the 7am launch of BNI's first Yorkshire Chapter at the David Lloyd Leisure Complex in Moortown, Leeds.
They will be introduced to the secrets of American-style networking by UK national directors Martin and Gillian Lawson.
"It requires effort and commitment to get out of bed at six in the morning even once a week to attend a business meeting, but the fact that most members soon view it as a high point in their week is clear proof that the approach works. They are winning substantial extra business while their competitors are still asleep," said newly-appointed Yorkshire regional director Niri Patel.
He believes there are many business people in the area who will be attracted to a weekly meeting once they see how quickly new business flows from the exchange of referrals around the breakfast table.
