Sunday Alliance: Bottom club Hudsons produced a shock in the Premier Division by beating champions and current leaders East Bowling Unity 2-1.

The difference between top and bottom was not noticeable as Hudsons went ahead through Chris Smith's left-foot strike. After Paul Viner had twice gone close, Dave Elvidge forced home Mark Burnham's cross for Unity's equaliser.

Hudsons got their deserved win when player-manager Wayne Cotton scored from close range for his side's second-half winner.

Chris Stabb was outstanding at the heart of a young Hudsons side guided by the experience of Graham Gilderdale and Billy Payton.

The result takes Hudsons off the bottom but leaves Unity, who have only lost twice, still title favourites.

Two goals from Hassan Terrelongue saw Bradford Moor stay second with a 2-0 win over mid-table Stanley Road.

In their first league game of the year Albion Sports strolled to an 8-0 win over Victoria Rangers, Vinny Archer leading the way with a hat-trick.

Bolton Woods' dismal run continued at Oakenshaw. After a goalless first half, four goals came in the last 30 minutes, including three in five minutes, as Oakenshaw won 3-1.

The two joint leaders in Division One, Craven Heifer and Fairweather Green, who have an inferior goal difference, rounded off their season with wins. They must now wait to see if East Ward and Calverley win their matches in hand to overtake them.

Greg Watts and Adie Howard collected hat-tricks in Fair-weather's 6-0 win over a poor Queens side.

Craven, with Richard Dyson getting two goals, ended Calverley Victoria's run with a 3-1 win. That means Calverley and East Ward, who had no game, can overtake the two leading clubs if they win their four remaining matches.

Westwood, who have been in contention for most of the season but lost ground recently, were 3-1 winners over Wrose Bull.

They can still have a say in who goes up with two games to play against Calverley.

While Greengates Albion couldn't raise a side for their Division 1A match against Malta Court, a strike by midfielder Andy Emmott was the highlight of Fountain's 2-0 win over mid-table side Bolton.

In Division 1B Springfield's chances of overtaking Hare & Hounds for the title took a jolt.

Station, still needing points to be sure of staying in the division, beat them 3-1. Midfielder Wayne Woodley, who had not scored a goal all season, proved the game's star by netting all three Station goals.

Chellow's match at Bolton Wood Socials was memorable for visiting substitute Graham Sharpe. After refereeing the first half he joined the action after the break when a Chellow player was injured and scored twice as his side lost 7-4.

In the Intermediate Cup semi-finals Bank Top foiled favourites Pudsey Royal's double attempt when they won 3-2.

Going ahead from Simon Hartley's spot kick midway through the first half, Bank Top lost their initiative when Pudsey forced a 60th minute equaliser. As the game went into extra time a battling performance from Top saw them triumph 3-2 with Andy Sunter and Neil Magee scoring in the extra period.
