Rugby League: Three Bradford clubs bid to reach the semi-finals of the Pennine Presidents Cup tomorrow.
Clayton are at home to holders Elland in a tie which is bound to be very close. The Halifax side are favourites for the Premiership crown having lost only one league game all season and are noted for their uncompromising brand of rugby.
The Villagers, however, are back to their best following the re-signing of forward Andy Stephenson from Keighley Cougars but they do have one injury doubt in Darren Collins who has a damaged foot.
Birkenshaw travel to Littleborough in an all Division One clash and fancy their chances so much they have agreed that the game will also count for two valuable league points. Birky - through to the final of the RBR Bradford Cup and favourites for promotion - have no injury problems.
West Bowling A, the Pennine League's top scorers with a staggering 817 points from only 17 outings, will have to summon up all their attacking prowess if they are to overcome Lindley Swifts at Bankfoot Cricket Club. The Huddersfield outfit are bottom of the Premier Division but it is a big gulf between their position and Bowling's Division Three status.
Coach Joe McDermott drafts prop Julian Key - the ex Wibsey RU favourite - into the squad as a replacement for the injured Chris Makowski.
In the Shipley Trophy semi-finals Queensbury A will be confident of going all the way to reach their second final of the season at Illingworth A.
Bury are unbeaten at any level and last week celebrated winning the Division Four title outright. Illingworth will have to keep a close watch on ex-Halifax forward Martin Kemp who is scoring almost at will.
In the Premier Division Queensbury travel to neighbours Ovenden in a middle of the table clash. Bury look to be back on song following the return to action of Carl Smith and Matthew Galtress.
Division One Undercliffe must win at Keighley Town to keep up their promotion hopes and in Division Two Wyke are looking for the double at Victoria Vikings. Dudley Hill Eagles face a tough task at Todmorden.
West Bowling B entertain potential Division Five champions Greetland at Emsley's Rec in what will be a physical encounter, while Shipley will be looking to make home advantage count against Undercliffe A.
Meanwhile, West Bowling have no National Conference match tomorrow following the selection of six players for the Yorkshire side which travels to Cumbria in the BARLA County Championship on Sunday.
Loose forward Nigel Halmshaw, stand off Peter Simpson, fullback Simon Owen, second row forward John Metcalfe and centres Paul Cornforth and Martin Tordoff will be hoping to impress in order to gain selection for the BARLA Great Britain and Ireland Lions squad to compete in this year's Emerging Nations Championship.
