Giants coach John Kear wore a haunted look after the sides' Challenge Cup meeting at Odsal in February.
But he feels his team will be better for the experience of that 32-4 defeat going into tomorrow's Super League re-match.
"To tackle a team with the pace, power and size of the Bulls you need to match them with seasoned professionals," said the England coach.
And that's why he moved in quickly this week to snap up back-rower David Bradbury who had been on a temporary contract with Warrington following his release by Salford at the end of last season.
Bradbury, who began his career with Oldham, will make his debut along with young French winger Sylvain Houles as they face the unenviable task of trying to halt the form team of the season to date.
The Bulls have run in 41 tries in six league and cup matches so far this year while the Giants have still to record their first victory.
But Bradbury is relishing the prospect of testing himself against the best again.
"It's not often you get a second chance in Super League and I intend to make the most of it," he said.
"My injury problems at Salford meant they never saw the best of me, but I'm fully fit now and looking for a big season to push myself into the Irish squad for the World Cup."
Kear said: "Our problems in the back row are well documented and David gives us experienced cover in this area."
French international Houles, 19, is also in line for a baptism of fire having looked exceptionally impressive in the Giants' Alliance side, scoring four tries in the last three games.
That sort of form has caught the eye of Kear and although he has yet to finalise his side he will definitely use Houles at some stage.
"I've been very impressed with the way Sylvain has adapted to the English game and he is already beginning to fulfil some of his potential," said Kear.
Kear is unable to finalise his back line because of a doubt over the fitness of in-form full-back Paul Reilly.
The former Moldgreen Junior suffered a bout of concussion during the game at London Broncos a fortnight ago when injuries severely disrupted the Giants after a very promising opening.
One of their major absentees tomorrow is former Leeds forward Nick Fozzard who could miss the rest of the season with a broken arm and wrist.
